  • No plagiarism — Do not present others' work as your own.
  • No unauthorized distribution — Do not share paid content, software, or digital products without authorization.

12. Video Call Specific Rules

Video calls have additional rules to ensure safety and respect. Treat every call like a shared public space — other people can see and hear you, so keep your camera, clothing, background, and behavior clean.

12a. Keep It Clean (Public-Space Standard)

  • Stay appropriate on camera — No nudity, sexual acts, flashing, underwear-only streams, or intentionally sexual posing.
  • Keep your environment clean — Do not show pornographic material, illegal activity, or other prohibited imagery in frame.
  • Respect strangers — Video matching is a public social space. Behavior that would be unacceptable in a café or lobby is unacceptable on PairUp.
  • Expect AI enforcement — Live video AI monitors for inappropriate visuals and can warn, blur the remote video, or disconnect the call.

12b. Live Video AI Monitoring

  • On-device checks — NSFW / inappropriate content classification runs in the browser against the live remote stream.
  • Frames are not uploaded — Video frames are not sent to PairUp for cloud vision analysis. Lightweight moderation metadata may be stored for enforcement.
  • Progressive response — Typical path: warning → final warning with blur → call disconnect for continued violations.
  • Your tools still matter — Skip, end call, block, and report remain available at all times.
  • Learn more — AI Moderation and Safety Policy.

12c. Recording and Screen Capture

  • No recording without consent — Recording video calls without all participants' explicit consent is prohibited.
  • No screen capture — Taking screenshots or screen captures without consent is prohibited.
  • Explicit consent required — All participants must verbally or in-chat agree to being recorded before recording begins.
  • No distribution — Sharing recorded video calls or screenshots without consent is prohibited.

12d. Camera and Microphone Use

  • No inappropriate camera use — Do not show illegal acts, nudity, or prohibited content on camera.
  • No exposing minors on camera — Minors must not appear on video calls, even accidentally.
  • No fake streaming — Do not use pre-recorded videos, loops, or deepfake content to deceive other participants.
  • Appropriate background — Ensure your camera background does not reveal personal information or sensitive data.
  • Camera control — You may toggle your camera on/off at any time during a call.
  • Microphone control — You may mute/unmute your microphone at any time during a call.

12e. Behavior During Video Calls

  • No harassment on video — Verbal harassment, hate speech, or inappropriate behavior during video calls is prohibited.
  • No unwanted exposure — Forcing someone to view inappropriate content on camera is prohibited.
  • Respect boundaries — If someone asks you to stop a certain behavior, stop immediately.
  • No sexual harassment — Any form of sexual harassment during video calls is strictly prohibited.
  • No threats or intimidation — Threatening behavior during video calls will result in immediate action.

12f. Screen Sharing

  • No sensitive information — Do not share screens containing passwords, financial data, or personal information.
  • No prohibited content — Do not share screens displaying illegal or prohibited content.
  • Consent required — Only share your screen when all participants agree to view it.
  • Stop on request — If a participant asks you to stop screen sharing, stop immediately.

12g. Age Requirements

  • 18+ only — Video call features are restricted to users 18 years and older.
  • No minors — Minors are not permitted to use video call features.
  • Parental responsibility — Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising minors' online activity.

12h. Privacy and Encryption

  • Encrypted transport — Video calls use secure WebRTC; PairUp does not store call recordings.
  • On-device safety AI — Live classification runs on-device; frames are not uploaded for cloud vision analysis.
  • Public-space standard — Prefer a private room so bystanders do not appear — and keep what you show appropriate as if you were in public.
  • No personal information — Don't share personal details during video calls.

13. Enforcement and Consequences

Violations of these guidelines may result in:

  • Warning — First-time minor violations may receive a warning.
  • Content removal — Prohibited content will be removed.
  • Temporary suspension — Account may be suspended for a specified period.
  • Permanent ban — Serious or repeated violations result in permanent account termination.
  • Legal action — Illegal activities will be reported to law enforcement.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion, with or without prior notice, for violations of these guidelines.
