1. Information We Collect

- session and usage metadata.
Account and identity data (if login is used)
- email address;
- authentication provider identifiers (e.g., Google); and
- basic profile fields you submit.
Camera and microphone data (Video Call feature)
- When you use Video Call, we request access to your camera and microphone to enable real-time video and audio communication.
- Video and audio streams are processed peer-to-peer between participants and are not stored on our servers.
- We do not record or store video call content unless explicitly required for abuse investigation or legal compliance.
- Camera and microphone permissions are requested only when you initiate or accept a video call.
- Recording without consent is prohibited — You may not record video calls without explicit consent from all participants.
- No minors on camera — Minors must not appear on video calls, even accidentally.
- No prohibited content on camera — Nudity, sexual acts, or illegal content on camera is prohibited and may be reported.
Subscription and payment data
- payment method information (processed securely by third-party payment providers);
- subscription tier, billing cycle, and renewal dates;
- transaction history and receipts; and
- premium feature usage data for service delivery.
User content and activity
- messages, media, reports, and moderation interactions;
- security/reliability logs; and
- feature interaction events used for product reliability and abuse prevention.
2. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies/local storage to:
- maintain sessions and preferences;
- improve performance and reliability; and
- measure aggregate usage trends.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not function properly if disabled.
3. Analytics
We may use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand service usage and improve performance, safety, and usability.
4. How We Use Information
We process information to:
- operate and deliver the Service;
- authenticate users and prevent abuse/spam/fraud;
- enforce Terms, moderation, and safety workflows;
- maintain platform security and incident response; and
- improve features and overall service quality.
We do not sell personal information.
5. Third-Party Services and Processors
We may share limited data with trusted infrastructure/service providers, including:
- Supabase (database/auth/storage infrastructure);
- Vercel (hosting/deployment/infrastructure);
- Google Authentication services; and
- Google Analytics (or equivalent analytics providers).
These providers process data under their own policies and contractual obligations.
6. Data Retention
We retain data only for as long as needed to:
- provide and secure the Service;
- investigate abuse and enforce policies; and
- comply with legal obligations.
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. However, no online system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
PairUp.chat is not intended for users under 18, and we do not knowingly process minor's data.
9. User Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
- access your personal data;
- correct inaccurate data; and
- request deletion where legally applicable.
9a. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated data by:
- emailing contact@pairup.chat from your registered email address with the subject "Account Deletion Request"; or
- using the account deletion option in your profile settings (if available).
Upon receiving a valid deletion request, we will:
- permanently delete your account within 30 days;
- remove your personal information from active databases;
- delete your messages and user content where technically feasible; and
- retain only data required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or security purposes.

10. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be posted on this page with the revised date. Continued use of the Service after updates indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
