Terms of Service – PairUp.chat

Welcome to PairUp.chat. By accessing or using our website and services (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Overview

PairUp.chat is an online platform that enables anonymous and account-based social communication, including chat, matching, and related interactive features.

By using the Service, you confirm that:

• you agree to these Terms;
• you will comply with applicable laws; and
• you accept responsibility for your conduct and activity on the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use PairUp.chat.

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

• you are at least 18 years old;
• you have legal capacity to enter into these Terms; and
• your use complies with all applicable laws.

If we reasonably believe a user is under 18, access may be terminated immediately.

3. Anonymous Communication Disclaimer

PairUp.chat allows users to communicate anonymously. We do not verify every user identity and cannot guarantee:

• the accuracy of user-provided information;
• the conduct of other users; or
• the safety or outcome of user interactions.

All interactions are at your own risk.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to use PairUp.chat to:

• harass, threaten, or abuse others;
• share illegal, fraudulent, or sexually explicit content;
• distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code;
• impersonate any person or entity;
• promote scams, violence, or hate speech;
• infringe intellectual property or privacy/publicity rights; or
• send spam or unauthorized advertising.

Violations may lead to suspension, permanent ban, and/or law-enforcement referral.

4a. Video Call Specific Conduct

When using the Video Call feature, you additionally agree not to:

• Record without consent — Recording video calls without explicit consent from all participants is prohibited.
• Display prohibited content — Showing nudity, sexual acts, illegal activities, or violence on camera is prohibited.
• Allow minors on camera — Minors must not appear on video calls, even accidentally.
• Use fake video — Using pre-recorded videos, loops, or deepfakes to deceive other participants is prohibited.
• Harass during calls — Verbal harassment, hate speech, or inappropriate behavior during video calls is prohibited.

You are responsible for your conduct during video calls. PairUp.chat is not responsible for the behavior of other users.

5. Content Ownership and License

You retain ownership of content you submit ("User Content").

You grant PairUp.chat a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, process, transmit, reproduce, adapt, display, and distribute User Content solely to operate, secure, moderate, and improve the Service.

6. Prohibited Content

The following is strictly prohibited:

• child sexual abuse or exploitation material;
• credible threats of violence;
• harassment, bullying, or stalking;
• illegal drug or weapon sales/trafficking;
• copyrighted content uploaded without permission; and
• extremist/terrorist propaganda.

We may remove prohibited content immediately.

7. Account Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or terminate access at any time, with or without prior notice, including for:

• Terms violations;
• suspected illegal activity;
• platform abuse; or
• harmful behavior reports.

7a. Subscription Terms

Subscription Plans

PairUp.chat offers subscription plans (monthly and annual) that provide access to premium features. By subscribing, you agree to:

• pay the applicable subscription fees at the beginning of each billing cycle;
• provide accurate payment information; and
• maintain your account in good standing with these Terms.

Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You authorize us to charge your payment method for all renewal fees.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will not receive a refund for the unused portion of the current billing period unless required by law.

Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice before the next billing cycle. You may cancel before the price change takes effect.

Refund Policy

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. In general, subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law or in cases of technical failure.

Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we may suspend your subscription benefits until payment is successfully processed. We may attempt to charge your payment method multiple times. You agree to update your payment information promptly if needed.

8. Intellectual Property Rights

All PairUp.chat materials, including software, code, design, branding, logos, graphics, interface elements, and documentation, are owned by PairUp.chat and/or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

The PairUp.chat concept, product direction, and core feature design are independently created by the project owner and are not copied from third-party products.

You may not:

• copy, reproduce, mirror, or redistribute the platform or code;
• reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt source extraction;
• scrape, crawl, or harvest platform data without authorization; or
• use PairUp.chat branding or marks without prior written permission.

9. Copyright Infringement Policy

If you believe your copyright is infringed, submit a notice containing:

• your name and contact details;
• proof of ownership/authorization;
• location/URL of allegedly infringing content; and
• a good-faith statement of infringement belief.

We may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing content while investigating.

10. Third-Party Services

PairUp.chat may rely on third-party providers including:

• Google Authentication;
• Supabase infrastructure;
• Vercel hosting; and
• Google Analytics (or similar analytics tools).

These providers operate under their own policies and terms.

11. Service Availability

We strive for uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service may experience downtime, maintenance, outages, latency, or other technical interruptions.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent allowed by law.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PairUp.chat is not liable for:

• user behavior or user-generated content;
• losses from user interactions;
• data loss, service interruption, or security incidents;
• financial, reputational, or emotional harm; or
• indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

14. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the platform. No internet-connected system is fully secure, and users remain responsible for device/account security.

15. Acceptable Technical Use

You must not:

• run bots or automation that abuses the Service;
• overload or stress-test the system without authorization;
• attempt unauthorized access, vulnerability exploitation, or bypass controls; or
• interfere with service integrity, moderation, or logging systems.

16. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Service are subject to applicable courts/tribunals in India, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
